For an online painting-challenge, we where asked to make an image that would represent Australia!
It interested me, but did not know exactly how I would do it!
I ended up on the site of a couple of Globetrotters! http://www.bourlingueurs.com/
I scrutinized their photos and found 2 who appealed me very much!
One of Ayers Rock , and one of a crashed car in the middle of the dessert!
I melted them together to one photo!
Mark warned me that I painted “Kata Tjuta” instead of “Ayers Rock”!

The representation of this mountain and that derelict car described in my mind how I see Australia!
Beautiful nature and heritage nurtured by the Aboriginals, and the car representing the pioneers, adventurers and technology trying to find its place in that great big continent!

    Ton interprétation de l’Australie est très belle JC! Les couleurs du désert sont extraordinairement oranges dans cette partie du pays et tu les a bien reproduites. Et puis j’aime le vieux camion rouillé. Ca représente bien cet environement très dur qu’est le désert australien.

    Nicely done. Having travelled to the Northern Territory myself, the colour palette and clarity of the image are very true to what it is like there.

    BTW you may find that the rocks in the photo were a place called Kata Tjuta (The Olgas), very near to Ayres Rock (Uluru).

    This really is Australia (though not Ulura) – what a great image and love your description. We are a land of many contrasts- I love the desert but it is presently flooding where I live!
