I am liquid
soft and malleable
fully encompassing
every part of you
even that
which is hidden
you are stone
solid and strong
resilient
against my assault
your words
and your passion
entice my own
each flowing
like a river
amongst the
bed of rocks
you lay before me
allowing my current
to play among
those places
deep
beneath the surface
in pools of lust
we will bask
in torrents of bliss
we will drown
and together
we will be
the perfect
combination

Yes rivers are wonderful…the powerful thrusts of water on to the hard stone. Pounding and pounding and pounding until….oh NVM.

I guess you make a lot of trips to Niagra Falls, huh? Not far from Toronto as you know. I loved it when I was there. Spent hours and hours watching the water pour over the edge only to crash continually upon the hardness below.

I guess that explains all those honeymooners…..

Oh yeah…I nearly forgot about that. I stopped at some of them on the way up from Toronto. I was impressed. Just think, if I ever come visit, you can get me drunk and take me to the river…uh falls…uh…oh dear

Pretty words and images. It flows like a river – warm and wet. It also draws an unspoken metaphor – when water freezes, stone shatters. Hell hath no fury…

Yes, a cold shower is required after reading this. :-)

like water scorned? Always a unique, but accurate point of view.

I like the fact you can picture a warm river. Where I live, it is primarily run off from the mountains feeding our valley and Lake Tahoe. Cold doesn’t begin to describe it. Needless to say, the stones around here are usually prepared for the onslaught…usually….LOL

A lovely compliment. I’ll start the fire to make sure you have something to re-warm yourself when you return. Oh my, will that defeat the purpose? So sorry….

I live near a beautiful river and hike by it a few times a week. Sometimes I just stand on a bridge and let my mind wander along with the water. Somehow this poem came to me on one of those walks.

I love water. I do. Rivers, lakes…I guess that comes from being born and raised next to the ocean. It just brings out so many emotions when I think of it…and it equates so well to..well…uh….you know.

I live near a river and am forever lost in thought, staring at its rapids and swirling eddies. To me, it is always a sensual experience….so I thought I would share. I am glad you like this. Thanks.
