Now the snow has gone after a short, but heavy spell of winter weather, I like the idea of saying Goodbye to winter. Perhaps it is still too early for that, but the light shows more and more each day that spring is coming soon.

Of course you know this old beech-tree already: it is a old friend of mine in the forests near Lage Vuursche whom I never forget to greet whenever I pass along. Here is one of my former pictures of this wonderful old friend – to my great pleasure it actually is the most popular picture of my gallery:
It is so lovely to have seasonal shots of the same scene, showing the many difference moods of nature. So beautiful to see spring approaching (for us, our summer hardly even happened!!!).
