Herons are generally pretty shy birds. Certainly they are so around here at Hilversum. But there are some places here in the Netherlands where they are not shy at all: the first is Amsterdam, and the second are some of the harbour towns.
A fishing harbour like Urk has a very special attraction for herons, of course. This one was a really enterprising guy or girl (I actually do not see the difference), entering boats etc.
