It was just three months ago that I wandered through the ever so beautiful centre of the city of Utrecht on a lovely late October day. I actually find Utrecht much nicer than Amsterdam. Its history is older, there are fewer cars and tourists and there is less crime. And there are so many little spots that are very attractive. You will surely see more of it in the course of the time to come.
Here you see the “Nieuwe Gracht” (New Canal) at its most easterly end. At this place it is so peaceful. Hard to imagine that part of the traffic through Utrecht went along here for hundreds and hundreds of years, though I must add that the through-traffic went along the Old Canal.
I stop here immediately. Otherwise this will become a booklet. But do go to Utrecht, whenever you get the opportunity.
