The sun sets early here in the Netherlands in December. So is was just after 4 pm on 12/11 on the IJmuiden North-Sea beach that the sun prepared itself in such a magnificent manner for its departure.

With a little effort I could train these gulls to fly just between me and the sun. It proved impossible however to get just one or two do it right. So the shot is somewhat crowded. I hope you will not mind that.
