Artist's Description

You never know what you will see when you venture into a mystery forest. All sorts of unexpected encounters could happen. Once again I leave it to your imagination what to expect when going on on this muddy path. The wonderfully mysterious atmosphere which we experienced here on Easter Monday morning certainly provided ample room for giving full scope to your fancy.

As to me, well, I did have a special adventure apart from meeting Bliss. To my great alarm I stumbled upon the Lady with the Hounds. When they raced towards me in order to tear me up, she fortunately saw me in good time to call her monsters back. To my growing terror, I saw that at first they did not want to obey, but just stood and stared … Oh, yes, indeed these were tense moments, but then … at last … after repeated calls they did go back to my great relief, and then the lady just disappeared with them on a side-path into the forest again.

And all this was not just imagination, but did really happen on this Easter Monday morning in the forests near Hilversum. I cannot deny though that in my fright I might have seen dangerous beasts, while these dogs were just curious about that strange apparition on their path. Perhaps they just wanted to have a good sniff and a little pee at my tripod …
