I present you with this shot of the lighthouse of the Island of Urk today in order to gratefully mention the fact that it is exactly two years ago that I bought my Nikon D80 with the Nikkor 18-200 mm there. This shot is one of the first taken with this camera on that day. Two cormorants came along just in time as you can see in the right lower corner of the picture.
In the meantime both the camera and the lense have served me well, and so I hope still to be able to make good use of it for some time.
Though there are a lot of newer cameras by now, with some additional features that are indeed tempting, my good old D80 will hopefully be my companion for quite some time to come. After all, these things are somewhat pricy, as you all know only too well. And being more of a photographer than a seller of my pictures, I just have to economise like most other people.
But that is not important today. Today I want to express my gratitude to the Nikon guys who have made such a good camera!
