One of the 18th-century windmills at Kinderdijk against the setting sun. The poles at the back are used to turn the top of mill so that the propellers can catch the wind best. In Dutch you call such a mill a “buitenkruier”, in contrast to a “binnenkruier” (here you can turn the top from from the inside).
