From the Old Canal to the River Vecht

This time another shot of the Old Canal, taken at Utrecht in last October. All traffic that went along the River Vecht towards the Zuiderzee, had to pass along this place before. So the Old Canal once was a thoroughfare of the highest order, as medieval Utrecht was a great centre for trade already long before Amsterdam dreamt of coming into being.
