Autumnal tapestry

I must admit that this picture taught me a lesson. At first I regarded it only as one of the failed shots, as the lense had been directed too much upwards while the camera was standing on the tripod and I tried one of my lane shots. Sometimes I use a very low tripod position and just cannot use the viewfinder and have to take a few test shots to get the right position. Well, this was one of the test shots and at first it seemed one of the failures which are inevitable if you have to work this way. And I was not going to lie on my stomach!

But then I looked again and opened my eyes to this wonderful autumnal colour mix which the beech-tree leaves provided today above my head, some still green, some golden and some already brown, interwoven in an intricate pattern. And knowing that nothing is more temporary than this bit of autumnal beauty, as it will be gone within days now, I decided to share it with you. Will you appreciate it too?

it actually is a very cool shot – I love the density of the leaves, but also the subtle way the branches interplay between the two tree-trunks. Very well captured and (re)discovered!
