Once upon a time in October ...
Once upon a time in October a prince rode down a forest lane, in search of the enchanted castle. It was a lane of wonderful high beech-trees. Surely it would lead him to something special. What was hidden in the haze at its end … ?
I do not know what kind of associations this lane triggers with you. Mine are quite imaginative, as you can see. But what about the special place this lane is leading to? Though it does not lead straight up to it, at its end, somewhat hidden in a beautiful garden on the right, you find indeed an old country-house, named Pijnenburg. Its grounds are private, so I alas never have managed to get a decent picture of it. But at least the lanes are open for everyone to enjoy them to the full.
