More than 3000 years of history
On the heathlands around Hilversum you can still find quite a number of prehistoric burial mounds. People of the so-called Hilversum culture lived here more than 3000 years ago.
I find it highly fascinating to think about it how life must have been here so long ago, under the hard conditions of those times. Some artefacts have been found in the mounds, but for the rest we know ever so little about the daily circumstances of these bronze-age people. But their ghosts are still around, especially on an early misty autumn morning.

Amazing, it looks like a circle of mist moving around the mound. Ghosts? great information to go along with it.

Brilliant image and wonderful history – it is mind boggling to think of these people living here so long ago and the lives they lived. I’m sure I’d feel their ghosts if I was there.
