Summer-evening at the River Amstel
It was warm Friday evening with great clouds yesterday, with people going out in many ways. Having a boat-trip on the River Amstel obviously was a especially joyful action.
At the background you can see the large building of the well-known Amsterdam theatre “Carré”.

Yes. I remember the phrase in Carré from childhood. When it was said about certain performers that that is where they had appeared. One of those things that you heard about but had never experienced. Looks so sunny and pleasant and, to me, has a touch of southern Europe to it. Geef mij maar Amsterdam. Dat is mooier dan Parijs. is what I’ve been singing along to, while painting, in recent days, with the cd player on, in the background. I shall now think of this picture. :)

Great you like the shot. Actually I have never been to Carré yet either. But you hear about it ever so often, and these days there is a show now and again that is shown on TV some time after the performance.
