Waterfall Photography Settings

This is how I shot – Washout

The lighting was not very good the shot was in a wooded area around 10am in the morning.
Taken at The Brandywine Falls in Northfield Ohio

My Camera is the Canon Digital Rebel XTI 400D and I used a Sigma Telephoto 28-300mm f/4-5.6 APO DG Macro Autofocus Lens
Shot was taken on my tripod
Using a wireless remote

Used the Shutter Priority Setting
TV = 2 sec
AV = 36
ISO 100
Focal Length 115 mm
Used the Mirror Lockup setting
Used the Noise Reduction setting

Processing was adjusted the shadows and highlights by darkening the highlights and lightening the shadows
Also did some minimal saturation to the entire photo

I will admit I wish I could go back in time because it is also great to be using a Neutral Density Filter….. I have just began using them and it makes a huge di

Selective Coloring Time To Share - A Throw Back image

I had the honor of doing a collaboration with Jo O’Brien
Please also check out her portfolio it is amazing!!
I have also had lots of questions how I do this.
She had an image that we worked on together and I did some post processing using selective coloring. Its a technique that I would suggest everyone try or learn.…

Go Here
if you have not yet seen it.

There are several ways to achieve this.
I use photoshop elements and find it the easiest to use for doing this.
- Trace the images that I want to leave color using the lasso tool (Can take a long
time but its worth it)
- After you have traced everything you want to leave color goto select and click inverse.
- By clicking inverse you are now on the outside of the images that you traced.
- Click on enhance and adjust color then adjust hue
