Love what you’re doing with that camera and the IR filter, Jeff. Mine doesn’t provide orange like this!

IR Filters are very interesting. My brother in law bought a different brand filter and keeps asking me how I am getting these pictures. So the filter must have a lot to do with it. I am using a Hoya R72 filter. More expensive but very worth it.
I bought a cheaper filter a while back and it was way to dark. Thanks for the compliments Mel!!

Thanks Keegan. I guess you can do it both ways. I use an IR filter lens that attaches to my camera. I guess if you are hardcore at it. You can put a chip or plate in your camera that makes the pictures more extreme. You see way more infrared light in the black and white mode on your camera. Makes the leaves on tree’s turn a glowing white color, like some of the other pictures in my portfolio. I still have a lot to learn with that lens. P.S you portfolio is incredible!

Thank you Nicole. All you need is an Infrared filter lens for your camera. Hoya has a good one that I use with an R72 value. I own a Canon powershot S3 IS. Its a real good camera. Still looking to upgrade

I have an S3 IS as well – did you manage to get a fitted filter for it?

Hi Jack. I just bout a screw on filter and bought the adapter tube. Any screw on lens will work.
I choose the Hoya brand filters. I have bought cheaper ones and they fail.

Another great image Jeff! I have heard the B+W filters are excellent along side the Hoya’s but am unaware of the price difference! (B+W are presumed to be dearer!)

Am not normally a fan of IR, the colours are usually cold and uninviting to my eye. This is different! Great image!

These photos are spectacular. The thumbnails look a bit like winter scenes, but when you enlarge them, they are simply glowing. I’ve never seen anything like it, but then I’m just a fledgling. Great stuff.

Wow – this is “eye-splitting loud”! I like it though.

I love this! From the bright spot of the sun, down to the dark shadows – it has such a beautiful tonal range. That filtered light is magic through the trees – great work!
