You are a beautiful, sorrowful song
on the edge of my tongue
groaning to be heard
sighing to be sung
You are a restless ocean
beating at my shore
and I may be the ship that sunk
deep on your ocean floor
You’re a book of a thousand pages
over every word I’ll pour
until at night I drift to sleep
but wake up needing more
You are the morning rain that falls
outside my window, weeping
waking up the senses in my body,
warm from sleeping
You are the trap I’ve fallen through
I’m tangled in your skin
with every taste and touch and breath
I’m sinking deeper in.

I had to read this through a haze of tears welling up. I don’t know why, maybe because we are sisters your words make so much sense.

And it is often a trap, but sweet and luscious to the soul, the mind the inner recesses of the mind. And when it is over it tears the soul asunder and leaves the pouring rain to drench your spirit until you love again.
