I watched you walk away today
You didn’t know it then
I longed to feel your lips on mine
To taste your breath again
But we are strangled, losing life
I’m digging our own grave
If we don’t turn this train around
They’ll be nothing left to save.
And now the poetry inside me
Is tangled, writhing, shrieking
Awakened by my pounding thoughts
And I’m no longer sleeping
Tomorrow it may never be
The us and you and them and me
That we have grown to love so dear
To not know you
Is to not know me.

Jenny – oh hello my too long absent friend!!!!!!!!!! How I’ve missed you and missed, too, your exquisite poetry! I can’t tell you how happy I am to see you here once again! And what a perfectly lovely re-entry – you’ve lost none of your flair for beautiful, touching and evocative images and phrasing! xox

And hello to you lianne! I had to put my RedBubbling on the back burner for a while… kind of had to eliminate a few things in my life that were taking too much time that I simply didn’t have in the first place. I do log on every now and then, especially to read your work. :) I have so much catching up to do! Thanks so much for the lovely comment. If you couldn’t tell, there’s a bit of turmoil in my life right now, which means I may be making my comeback to the world of poetry :)

HELLO! So good to see you again…...how’ve you been?
this is just wonderful, especially the tangled, writhing, shrieking line
And now the poetry inside me
Is tangled, writhing, shrieking
Awakened by my pounding thoughts
And I’m no longer sleeping
beautiful, just beautiful, i can so identify….

Great to see you too!!! I’ve been ok, like I said to Lianne I just had to put Red Bubble on the back burner for a while, I’ve been incredibly busy. Thank you so much for your comment, I look forward to catching back up on your work :)

Hi Amy!! I fell off the face of RedBubble earth for a while. I have so much catching up to do! Thanks so much for the comment, I really appreciate it!

RB has been on the back burner for me too for the past few months Jenny – and I’m on occasionally with different ground rules for myself – I don’t try to do the impossible any more and try to keep up with my more prolific friends in terms of comments. But whatever time you can be here Jenny – just know that what you write and what you share is the real gift – to yourself and to us too! I’m so pleased to think you’ll be writing again – there always has to be time for creative expression, perhaps more so when our lives are in a tizzy!

well it’s good to have you back, even if it is in a limited capacity!! it’s sooooo easy to lose hours and hours to this site, i know, my husband says he is a redbubble widow!!

This caught my eye and was a good read. I actually wrote a song by the same title which begins “You watched me walk away.”

very sorry to hear it went down like that but you find out how strong that bond is if you are able to come out that grave and it’s like the love has been reborn
