Hello to all of you that have been curious enough to read a little about me….thank you for your time and I hope that you will come back often and watch my RB as it grows.
I can’t remember a time in my life that I haven’t been holding a camera, starting with my little Brownie that printed b&w prints to the age of digital.
My focus here on RB will be two subjects. I am a neon shooter and that is what really floats my boat. There is a period of time when the sun is going down that gives me the electric blue sky that I love to shoot against. Unfortunately this period of time is only about 10 to 20 minutes at best. I do shoot against black or dark sky, but it is not my preference. Where ever I go in this world, I am always looking for vintage neon. I have driven Route 66 from Chicago to Los Angeles on two separate occasions to document the aging and sadly disappearing neon world. I will also feature some night shots that are not specifically neon.
The second subject that I will feature is Carnivale in Venice, Italy. For the past twenty years or so, I have been fascinated by the color and romance of this annual event. I love being in Italy for Carnivale, and usually visit some other areas while capturing the magic of Venice. I will probably share a little of my love for Italy as well. And yes…..I always find neon…..
I have been thinking about joining RB for a while now, and with the encouragement of my daughter, here I go. She is a young and very gifted photographer and I am so very proud of her. Take a look at this incredibly talented woman at “TMTphotography”.
Thank you for stopping by and enjoy my slant on painting with light……..
