Kilcunda Trestle bridge

I’m not normally one to jump on the bandwagon of every little thing that comes along, but this is definitely a case of our “Representatives” seemingly getting it wrong with their bully boy style stand over tactics.
The more I look at the way the Victorian Government is going about this the more embarrassed I am to be a Victorian.
Recycled water for use to generate power instead of potable water from our reservoirs – If I remember correctly, this was a core promise at the last election. Is this another No Tolls on East Link broken promise, it definitely looks that way, almost all of this water is being pumped into the sea through the effluent discharge at Gunnamatta.
Grey water lines to be introduced to new land developments and during the normal replacement process of older pipelines for use to flush toilets etc.
Mandatory installation of water saving shower heasd and tap fittings.
Water tanks to capture rainfall for use on garden or in the house (potable or grey usage). and I am certain there are many more ways of using our water more efficiently.

Look I don’t want to rattle on about this, we are all grown up individuals after all and the information and official Federal Government EIS referral submissions is out there for each of us to make up our own minds. I for one will be letting the politicians know my opinion and hope that some of you may feel the same.

For pictures of this area Tony Middleton has some great examples
Or
Would you build a desal plant here? Travis Easton for more pictures of this beautiful area.

Aside from the fact that a priceless section of our coastline is about to be ruined unnecessarily. I still can’t get away from a fundamental question which relates to the core of our democratic system.
How can a Government of the people for the people, representing the people, NOT LISTEN to the people?

YOUR WATER, YOUR SAY
