HELP Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Has anyone got suggestions for a a good (preferably Australian) web host (or more to the point who to stay away from) as I am currently looking for one and as usual am getting information blur and overload when scrolling through ALL the search links. Any suggestions welcome Cheers

What type of site are you wanting to host John? Will it be a high bandwidth site? Is the only reason you prefer an Australian host due to latency?

  • John McNair:

Hi Tony, thanks for the reply. a. not a high bandwidth, looking at mainly index page with links to Red bubble and 3 or 4 other sites (current) and probably adding 3 -6 pages of thumbnails with links (haven’t finalised that in my head as yet (currently between jobs so money will come into it). Australian for dollar (currency) convenience and time zone (problem fixes). cheers john

This could be your best option..

Does your home internet connection come with free webspace? Some ISPs allow you to have a URL setup to your free webspace. The other way of doing it through your isp is to Forward your domain name to your isp free webspace address with URL cloaking in place.

  • John McNair:

That sounds like a plan, Thanks Tony, I’ll look into that one… Cheers

Your other choice might be to use the bubble site as your website. You can redirect a URL to it as well. Go to http://www.playingwithshadows.com to see it in action.

  • John McNair:

Yep that was the plan for linking to redbubble. I already have that prepared to link to CaiSha Photography. Cheers
