Located just beyond the first point the area near the “Mouth to the Powlett River” is the site for the new Desal Plant. Said to be the largest in the Southern Hemisphere, the plant will be built without the proper feasibility studies having been done. The plant is being located in an area that is not only adjacent to this pristine coastline but the flood plains of the Powlett river. Is it being built in an Industrial area? The answer to that is simply “NO”. Does it have a suitable power local power supply? The answer to that is simply “NO”. Is the water to be used in manufacturing the power to run the desal plant recycled? The answer to that is simply “NO” it will be taken from our potable water supply.
