About JayteesArt

Although I have only been using pastels for a couple of years the demand for my pastel portraits seems to be increasing so I have decided to focus on this aspect of my art during 2012 and am devoting a ‘spare room’ to making pastel dust in Ivy Cottage as well as The Kington Gallery ! To have received an ‘Artist of the Month’ award this January in ‘Painters Universe’ here on Red Bubble is a humbling and wonderful Kick Start to 2012

Hard to believe it’s watercolour, it’s like oil painting on my screen. I like.

  • …….. well usually TeAnne the comment is they look like pastels .. so maybe I’m progressing… or would that be going backwards : ^ D I guess it depends what your media of choice is ;)

So Glad you are enjoying the Kittie Pics … eventually some big boy poses will join them !

A pensive moment captured so well. I notice there are four teacups. Is this to save time ? Nice light from window

  • John.. you are very observant….. my friend on the right asked why there were four cups when there were only three of us there……you may have solved the mystery!! I enjoyed making the changes needed from the photo to make the ‘White out’ on the photo look better so thank you for the comment.

  • Pat…… thank you so much……….I am just begining to realise what an honour it is to be featured amongst so much excellent work and truly appreciate it……. it is a great confidence booster…… especially when I am ‘out of sync’ with the present fashion for loose transparent watercolours !

A great image of thoughtful study and concentration, with the necessary mugs of coffee or tea needed for this contemplative pastime.
