This series of paintings was inspired by a challenge to limit my usual range of colours to the four-colour range used by a friend of mine: yellow ochre, black, white and burnt sienna. I tried using them unmixed, and it really wasn’t working for me – so I mixed them to a colour-range that I found more appealing to work with, and the fun began… :-)

(Of course, the addition of the metallic embellishments was cheating – but I couldn’t resist!)

An expressionistic, exploratory artist, I create without restraint or intent. I am a passionate advocate of natural learning, and this organic approach informs all of my work, giving my creations their vibrancy and spontaneity. An abiding love of nature keeps me going when my rather warped sense of humour fails. Above all, I reject the dysfunction and pain our culture perpetuates. More of the same is of no interest to me. I say “YES” to that which is life-serving: let a new paradigm emerge!

You are most welcome! I love the story about how this came to be, struggling with the original, limited pallette of colors and then viola’! you shifted the energy and made something beautiful. :o) These sorts of things help us expand don’t they?
