'Art for a New Paradigm' - my new book!

In response to redbubble’s ‘create-a-free-mini-portfolio’ voucher offer, I spent several days recently wrestling with Blurb’s ‘BookSmart’ software in order to create a collection of my original artwork for publication both as a hard copy (i.e. professionally printed) book and an eBook:

In an experience far too reminiscent of my pre-Mac days, I managed somehow to make my way through BookSmart’s frequent crashes and freezing in order to bring you ‘Art for a New Paradigm’, a sumptuous, full-colour feast featuring 42 pages of my most popular original artworks. I hope you’ll agree that it was well worth the effort in order to see my brush babies gathered to form their very own publication!

‘Art for a New Paradigm’ is also available in eBook format either through Blurb or at the Apple iBookstore.

There’s a preview to virtually leaf through on the Blurb website for those of you who would like to share my joy in seeing my first ever book published, and should you feel motivated to purchase a copy for yourself, you can do so whilst basking in the knowledge that Blurb will print it ‘on demand’ – so no paper waste whatsoever will ever be generated in its printing. How cool is that?!

Nice work Jay – I have a book for every year of Sam’s life just seems over the years you end up taking less shots. I tried the Blurb link but it uses the redbubble journal as part of the link and doesn’t work. This is the right link to your wonderful book http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/3582234

  • Thank you so much for your lovely comment, Vee – and for pointing out the coding error in this journal post, which I think I have now corrected… I have already sold a couple of hard copies of the book, so I am very pleased :o) I’m looking forward to receiving my own hard copy in the next day or two! :o)

Excellent news Jay. It certainly looks good on the Blurb site – i have started a couple of my rust ones but never finished one yet :o) never getting the time to do much.

  • Thanks again, Vee – I can confirm that creating a book using Blurb’s software is CERTAINLY time-consuming…………………!!!!! ;oO

Your book is awesome! Love the layout of image to word to description. How could I have missed you here? Your art reaches past descriptive boundaries revealing complicated webs of feeling.

  • Thank you very much for this lovely and much-appreciated comment, Ken :o) Jay

  • P.S. I always wonder about adding the words that associate themselves with my work: they come out of everywhere and nowhere, just like the images themselves, and I never know whether people will think I’m barmy or indeed whether they’ll have any meaning whatsoever to anyone at all…It is therefore even more encouraging to receive this comment from you – thank you again, Ken :o)
