Artist's Description

I’ve only been able to find 1 cooperative pika so far this summer. He must be a relative of Larry the Pika. He’s about 4 weeks old, and taking over the family business of alpine farming.

He’s growing fast – about 50% bigger than he was a couple of weeks ago. He was hanging around my feet at the start of the photo shoot, and even chewed a little on my shoe (there’s an image on my Facebook page).

He took a break to sun himself a little on this rock. I had some action shots of him stretching & yawning, but cranked the polarizer a little too far and didn’t notice I’d dropped the shutter speed to 1/40sec, so none of those images came out (I’m using being at 14,000ft as an excuse for that).
