So, the dog woke me up at 0415 . . .

The dog start pestering me at about 0415 – mildly at first, but when he wakes me up it’s usually a sign that he has to go to the bathroom in a desperate way. After another round of pestering me, I decided to go ahead and take him out. On the way downstairs, he grabbed a toy and threw it around – unusual behavior if he has to go to the bathroom, but since I was already up and dressed now, I dismissed it and harnessed him up.…

As soon as we were out the front door and off towards the drive, I heard what had his attention – there was a the unmistakable sound of a fox barking – and close by! I was already headed in that direction, but the dog was practically dragging me (he’s a 100+ pound Akita, and he usually gets to decide the direction we go based on his muscles and general level of en

New Year Photographic Projects

It’s now officially 2011. I’ve never been a big believer in New Years Resolutions (most folks seem to abandon those within hours of making them), but I thought I would take a shot (pun always intended) at developing (again) some Photographic Projects for the New Year.

Front Range Wildlife Photographers

I started a new photo club for wildlife photographers (and other nature photographers in the Colorado Front Range – Front Range Wildlife Photographers.…

If you’re a nature photographer living somewhere close to the Colorado Front Range, consider joining us. We have monthly meetings (usually at a beer pub), go every weekend on some sort of local wildlife photography shoot, and are planning other shoots (Bosque del Apache, Yellowstone, etc.). We also share ideas and work collaboratively in marketing and selling our art. It’s also a great way to network, share information, and meet lots of great folks.

We have professional photographers in our club, amateurs, and everything in between . There are currently no dues, but we are receptive to new-comers buying the first round.
