Golden Marmot

Golden Marmot

Well, the marmot’s not golden, just the light. I tried to get him to do 2 things – neither he did. The first thing was to try to get a little of that golden light reflected in his eyes – but, NO, he’d never face the light. The second was to catch him squeaking. He’d squeak out a warning, but I’d miss it by a fraction of a second. I hung around with him for a good 10 minutes trying to catch a squeak in a frame. When I caught myself yelling, “Squeak, damn you! Squeak!” I knew it was time to move on.

Honestly – first they refuse to wear the little lederhosen outfits I slave over a hot sewing machine to make for them, then they won’t even pose properly. Sheesh. (please, no angry letters – I’m kidding)

    ROFLMAO…. lederhosen…. Now there’s a visual…. ....TOO FUNNY!!

Now if you could just get him to pick up the toothbrush you laid next to him…. lol

  • Jay Ryser replied

I gave up on the toothbrush and am seeking sponsorship from the Crest people. Keep your eye out for a new White Strips ad on TV very soon.

How COULD you expect a my cousins to wear Lederhosen? No wonder he was miffed! As the MEGA Marmotta from Italy, I would suggest you provided your marmot with a neat little Ferrari to drive and he may have posed nicely for you! Is there no end to this marmot torment? Is there no end to your wonderful marmot snaps? (I hope not!) ;o)

  • Jay Ryser replied

Under the advice of my attorney and the threat of further legal action from the Colorado Division of Wildlife, I’m not allowed to divulge full details from the marmot in a remote controlled toy jeep “incident.” Suffice to say, a little Ferrari would likely prove just as tragic. But I’ve said too much already. Let’s agree never to speak of this again.

Great shot Jay, I often talk to birds that same way, but they rarely cooperate either. Cute little varmint, well done…......lol

  • Jay Ryser replied

They’re still more cooperative than my own family

Hahahaha! You always have me in stitches, it is a fabulous portrait even without the lederhosen:)

  • Jay Ryser replied

My next plan was a pair of nerd glasses and a plastic pocket pen protector. The lederhosen just seemed classier, more of an alpine theme.

Marmots are considered to be at risk for being yelled at by impatient photographers too, seems to me :)) Great shot Jay!
