Pika-Gram
No alpine floral delivery job too big or too small. Same day service available. Neither rain nor sleet or blizzard or avalanche will keep him from his delivery.
I watched this little pika gathering food for close to an hour. He (or she) tirelessly ran out to gather grass, plants, & flowers, and ran back to sort his (or her) harvest into tiny little hay bales to dry in the sun for storage over winter. If you look closely, you can see the tiny little flowers. I got lots of practice panning and taking action shots.

What cute little critters they are, excellent capture Jay.
Jay Ryser replied
Thanks Marvin. They are the cutest little guys – but that’s the problem – they’re so SMALL. And fast, too. I don’t know if a longer lens would help. 300mm seems the best compromise for now. If I add a TC, they’re that much harder to spot and track as they run under and around rocks in the talus field.

Took me a while to find him, great capture Jay
Jay Ryser replied
Thanks Robert. And if you think they’re hard to find in the picture, try finding them in a talus field!

Awesome Jay! Good job, they are speedylittle things! The texture on grass and rock is fabulous.

They ARE speedy little things!
