My daughter became interested in photography a few years back, and I was very inspired by her work (iltby). When she got her first dslr, I inherited her little Power Shot camera, and re-discovered the joy of my own photography! Having only dabbled previously with a Russian Zenit-E back in my 20’s, and doing some of my own B&W printing, I was very excited with the new digital cameras and what can be done with them. Next, I inherited Josie’s Canon 1000D, and just recently, her Canon 40D! I can see improvement in my work over the past 3 years, and having cameras that are capable of a bit more, and a couple more lenses, I’m having fun experimenting with more ways of “seeing” through the lens!

I truly feel that photography puts more “life” into “life”! It makes me aware of my surroundings in a way that captures my imagination and opens up an inner well-spring. It makes me smile every day – looking at colours, shapes, living creatures, tones, images …. not just in response to what I photograph, but in looking at others photography also. It is a happy experience!

I’m hoping that in sharing my photography, others will feel such emotions also.. I think photography (as with other art forms) can offer a very healing and uplifting experience, and put us in touch with far more than we would ordinarily be aware of.

My aim is to keep improving and growing as a photographer! I would very much appreciate comments, feedback and critique!
