Jay Michelsen is an American landscape painter and portraitist, best known for his drawings of children. Michelsen graduated from the University of Nebraska, and among his greatest influences in drawing was teacher and artist Tom Majeski. Michelsen has commissioned work with the United States Navy and other private benefactors.
