Artist's Description

Muloorina Water Hole South Australia

Just before reaching Marree at the south eastern end of the Oodnadatta Track in South Australia there’s a bit of a track that turns northish onto Muloorina Station. Depending how you decide to take it, this track will get you to the usually very dry narrow neck that joins Lake Eyre proper with Lake Eyre South. Before you get there though, you will probably want to stop and make camp here, at Muloorina Waterhole. We certainly did.

Muloorina is a beautiful spot. An oasis in the desert. Literally. Along with Coward Springs it is one of two must-stop-at camp sites when travelling the Oodnadatta Track. The bird life is stunning. No yabbies though.
