When I left Home It Didn't Look Like Rain

When I left Home It Didn’t Look Like Rain

I headed for Mrs. Macquarie’s Chair hoping for a good sunset. It started out that way too, but when I turned my camera onto the city to pick up some bright reflections off the office tower windows I noticed a very big, very wet, very dirty dishcloth hanging less than nonchalantly over the city skyline.
Oops. No raincoat…
I got very wet walking home, but I also saw the Emerald City, looking her magnificently tarty best, totally swathed in glorious glowing air.

So sharp and clear, Jeff! When viewed large, it has an amazing 3D effect to it! Really a wonderful capture, and it HAS to be viewed as large as possible. Just terrific!

  • Jeff Catford replied

Thanks Kevin. This is a bit of a departure for me and I’m still not sure that I like the effect. You’re right in saying that it has to be viewed LARGE. On my home monitor it does jump out at you … :-)

Fantastic Jeff! The sky and light on the buildings is absolutely amazing and those clouds are awesome, wonderful capture. That’s going straight to the pool room, oops I mean favourites ;)

  • Jeff Catford replied

Thanks Leigh. Although I reckon you should put it in the pool room. I’ll come around with a slab of Barons Blackwattle and we can sink a few… snooker balls and beers that is,, :-)
    Thanks for the Fave…

brilliant shot, just look at that rain in the city, it is pooring down.

  • Jeff Catford replied

Thanks Jason. Unfortunately that rain headed right over to where I was about 5 minutes after I took this. I mightn’t of had any wet weather gear, but luckily I had a nice little raincoat for my camera that some kind person organised for me. Top bloke is is too… :-)

    Love the dirty dishcloth :-)

  • Jeff Catford replied

Thanks MaCross.. That dirty dish cloth looked pretty scary when I first saw it. Huge, dirty black and angry. I though I was in for the sort of storm that Sydney gets in high summer. But then, it turned into one of the most spectacular and beautiful colour displays that I have seen. It simply glowed.
I still got bloody wet on the way home though… :-)

  • Jeff Catford replied 8 days ago

Mieke, I’m really glad you like this image because I sometimes wonder if it’s a bit much. But when I remember that the light really was like this I come back to liking it again.
So, thank you for your very encouraging comment… :-)
