The Capitol Cafe, also known as the Capital Restaurant, was for decades an institution on Main Street in Columbia, South Carolina. When I moved to town it was an all night eatery frequented by the people of the night shifts, like me, a reliable source of hot coffee and a great place for people watching, especially in the wee hours.
This is the front window after the place gave up a few years ago and was gutted. Available light, daytime. The sign casts an eerie shadow across the ruins of the interior.
