After taking studio shots of peach salads and other dishes for the South Carolina Peach Council through an agency client, I noticed a lone peach in the bottom of one of the baskets. Earlier in the day I picked the peaches in hundred-degree heat in a peach field near Batesburg, South Carolina, where I photographed several of them hanging on the tree. For this one-light, one-peach picture. I set up the black velvet. This is a scan from a 4×5 color negative. Calumet 4×5, 210mm S-Caltar lens. I added an Orton effect and a few other electronic twiddles, to achieve the abstract effect for a poster.
