There are many inspirational artists and photographic artists here on Red Bubble. Some have replaced the back ground or added textures to their artwork. After seeing these wonderful works I wanted to try the technique.
When I took the original Hawk photo the sky was a boring even light gray colour. I had a number of sky and cloud shots I took when I first started photography a couple of years ago. Like most novices I took shots of just about everything that moved or didn’t move.
This was an exercise in Photoshop. The Clouds were an old photo that I applied a Gaussian Blur filter to put it out of focus. Second put the original Hawk photo as another layer over the clouds. Then using Topaz Remask 3 I removed the background from the bird photo and left the Hawk and Branch. Then I cleaned it up a bit as the masking is not perfect but very good. Then compress the layers and save as a JPEG.
