Wonderful capture Michael, love the slightly bowed head of the incoming male seeking acceptance, must have been good to watch their behaviour.

  • It was fascinating to see how they interact, some of the confrontations however got very ferocious. The female got her paw hurt in one of them. I hope she will be ok, she is not a young animal.

Outstanding take, now who is the boss.

  • The Alpha Male did finally mate with her but no guarantee of fertilization. The interloper was getting bolder. I just hope he catches them message. They are close in size but the Alpha is a bit bigger. One could get hurt badly if it continues and social lines are crossed.

You are so lucky! I wish I was there!

  • Thank you Lee-Anne. Have you checked to see if there and nature reserves in your area. The furthest northwest I know of from me is on the Muskoka area. Still quite a distance from Kenora. Canada is just too big a country sometimes.

What a great capture! Sometimes you just have to raise the hackles and bare the teeth to get the point across these days.

  • Or grab a big frying pan and whack em

Excellent interactive shot Michael, great timing!

  • Thank you Martin. She gave me lots of opportunities. She definitely did not like this wolf’s attentions

LOL… nice capture, brilliant capture. thanks to you and Your 400mm (prime?) . thanks !!

  • Actually Electron I use a 200-400mm F4 lens. I find it more versatile then a prime and is almost as sharp
