These have to be the boldest squirrels in Ottawa. They are so use to people walking the trails and handing out peanuts or other seeds that they will come right up to you whether you have food or not. We call them the Mud Lake Gang.

Good job; stout fellow. I’ve posted two or three black squirrel pics, & as I think I mentioned before, have gotten into some interesting dialogue, especially with people in the UK who have never or seldom seen them. Have seen them in Canada all my life, but they are just making their way across the border here in the Niagara Peninsula/Western New York area. We have a cabin up in Muskoka, & the ones we see up there are enormous, & I do mean HUGE. Biggest squirrels I’ve seen of any color, by far.
