Even with 500mm or better, you must have been fairly close. Where was this taken? Were you in a shelter of some sort? He looks like he does not know you are near, or simply does not care.

That’s a killer image if I ever saw one. Michael, will you consider adding your camera settings to your images as well as where you took the image/impressions you had while photographing them, etc? You do fine work and I think you can help nascent wildlife photographers with your knowledge. In the meantime, also PLEASE consider adding your images to more groups.
