My first Art Fair experience!

Well, I’m about 10 days away from my first Art Fair experience!

I was accepted into the Emerging Artist category (jury selection) of the Ann Arbor Art Fair – which is a pretty big deal for me! There are actually 4 simultaneous fairs which cover the entire downtown area, and almost 1200 artists have booths in total! About 500,000 visitors come through over the 4 days.

Making things a lot easier for me logistically, it’s my hometown :)

I found out in late March, and have been slowly working away ever since. I have built display bins, a display board and printed & matted about 150 pieces. I’ve been prepping business cards and portfolios… I can’t believe it’s less than 2 weeks away now! Now it’s crunch time getting everything finished.

Home page!

Unexpectedly got my second home page feature today!

Funnily enough, it was another black & white, "At The Old Train Station’, which I don’t do too many of. Maybe I should start doing more!

After a fun 18 months in the bubble, I saw today that I had just passed 10,000 views on my works!

I’m very flattered and grateful to everyone who’s taken the time to look at my work and bring me to this milestone – especially amongst such a talented group of people.

my wasp and bee obsession

I wanted to thank everyone who’s been along on my recent wasp and bee obsession….
I am putting together a book of insect macro shots, and working on strengthening the work in each chapter.
No surprise, based on the work I’ve posted, it’s been wasps and bees this weekend. Add to that, they are (pun intended) swarming over a pink sedum in my garden… about the only flowering plant left, given we’ve had no rain in a month :(

Anyway, a few more wasp and bee posts, and there should be a bit more variation in my work again!
