I wish someone would invent a light switch
That turned the whole world off…
Even just for an hour.
We’d have peace temporarily
Everyone would behave sensibly
And the world would become incredibly
Calm.
I could read without the ‘phone ringing
I could work without the boss moaning
I would just about give everything
Well, almost.
And if I ever got it, I’d fit it with a dimmer
To let the special people in
The ones who matter most in life
Who make me smile within.
Switch the world OFF!
Just about wraps today up.
