A diluted response to the shooting in Knoxville yesterday…..which became even more unthinkable today…...
Why is my lifestyle such a problem for you?
Why do you hate me as much as you do?
Why does it concern you who sleeps in my bed?
Why are you worried about the thoughts in my head?
Why do you look at me with contempt in your eyes?
Why do I have to live my life in disguise?
I will make NO excuses for the lifestyle I lead….
I will NOT hate you, as hate I don’t need…
I will NOT lie about who sleeps in my bed….
I will NOT ‘dismiss’ the thoughts in my head…
I will NOT let you see the hurt in my eyes….
I will NOT live my life in disguise…
I will love with my mind, heart, body and soul
The person who makes my spirit whole.
And whoever that person happens to be..
Don’t take your fucking bigotry out on me.
Don’t think you’re doing the world a favour
By blasting a gun in the home of a saviour
Don’t think for one minute you’ll ever win

We may never know what triggers a person to resort to this level of violence. It is so very sad. And to think that the church was targeted specifically because it supports liberal programs is even sadder. I agree with you Jaybe – and I mourn for those that were lost and may yet be, and for his soul as well.
