Missing You....Not

We all have a distant past….fortunately this is now part of mine.

Missing You....Not belongs to the following groups:

All Things Poetic, Artistic, Philosophical

Simple things remind me of you, each and every day.
I try so hard to forget your face but in my mind it stays.
A vision of you standing next to me,
I can feel your presence but I can’t see.
My mind is scarred by the very words you said,
Conversations tattooed inside my head.
The feeling of your hands still touching my skin.
The heart you captured and fought to win.

The vision of power that you held over me.
The presence of control that stopped me being free.
The words that hurt and caused so much misery.
The ‘conversations’ that were the death of me.
The feeling of threat that hovered all around me.
The heart that wasn’t able to rescue me.

You stifled my creativity, crushed my humour.
The ‘really nice person’ was merely a vicious rumour.
My self-esteem left rotting on the floor,
And still you demanded more….

My mind escaped on a holiday somewhere.
Packed all of it’s memories, worries and cares.
Flew off on a plane to god knows where.
Left me alone, naked and bare.

And then it returned, wholesome and rich.
Determined to rid me of this control freak bitch.
Took me away to a place where I could be
Creative, complete, happy and FREE.

Good for you, Jaybe. I’m glad you escaped. So now, let the sun light your trail to more excellent adventures. And remember that any long journey starts with a single step, and then another, and so on.

  • Jaybe replied
