I really wish I was there. I can feel myself being transported to another time and place just by looking at this. I would love to know the story behind this picture. (hint hint).

  • Jaybe replied

There is a usually a story behind my pictures…lol…
I was in quite a bad place earlier this year and I went on a 2 week trip to France to see my parents. I was able to refocus a little, practice mindfulness for 2 weeks straight, and try to get my life back in order. During my stay we spent 3 days in Carcassonne. I had 3 wonderful days of peace, calm, tranquility and I felt a strong sense of past life experience. A weird feeling but very emotional. When I took this shot I was standing high up in the city walls, breathing in the air, feeling completely peaceful and, for the first time in a long time, I knew who I was…The rest of the story is on Mind, Body and Spirit…..
    Thankyou for taking the interest….

    Hey, I was born there!
It’s a pretty impressive castle, isn’t it? It has absorbed hundreds of years of history from the whole region, and if you open up your soul enough, it touches you personnally. I think you got to experience that Jaybe.
    Cheers.

  • Jaybe replied

Oh wow – you were born there? It did touch me personally…and very deeply…
I opened up my soul for definite Colombe. Thanks so much for your comment.

this is such an awesomely beautiful photo!! i can just picture flags and pennants atop the towers snapping in the air… merchants bustling down the road, some heading towards the gate to sell their wares in the market, while others are heading away, distraught over not being allowed to enter the market because they don’t have the proper papers… maybe even a group of knights racing out, shouting “make room, make room!”, as they head out out to put a stop to some banditry a few miles down the road… sorry for rambling, your photo really got my creative juices flowing XD!

  • Jaybe replied

Hi KK, sorry for the late reply…Loved your comment…I can see all of that behind these walls…excellent! Thanks…...x

I collect every single shot of La Cité. You know, we spent many years, grown up in Carcassonne (my little sister Colombe was even born there) and our best souvenirs were when we met friends for a drink at some cafés inside La Cité. There was always something happening and we also were looking forward to meeting people from all over the world, so that we could speak a little English with them….
Thanks for your wonderful catch of our Cité
