The Long Walk

This image is of one part of a musical performance, in memory of the Chinese cocklepickers, who died in Morecambe Bay, on the west coast of the UK.

They had come, hoping to earn money; instead they all died, trapped by the swift currents of the sea.

The second part of the Performance was in Hall 1 of the Sage Gateshead. Combining professional singers, musicians , community groups, the story unfolded in four acts, from leaving China to work, to the subsequent tragedy.
