Strange happenings
Events after a spooky investigation
Strange happenings belongs to the following groups:
*Paranormal The Norm* (*MUST* have description & *ONLY 2* per dayThe spooky group had visited Boughton in Northants, a very old church ruin in a small village.
We were in the horse lorry, 4 in the cab and a few in the seating area at the back.
We walked through iron gates, leading to very overgrown gravestones and a crumbly ruin.
Slowly, the intrepid bunch of investigators walked down the hill to the ruins.
It was at one time a very large 16th century church with a Holy spring behind, with which the water was used to bless/baptise.
We felt calm in the church (ruins) but climbing down the crumbling wall to the outside, we all became uneasy. There was a loud knocking, like metal on metal coming from one area. K and I thought we had seen a house as we drove into the car parking area, first we assumed the noise was from there. We walked back to find out what the noise was and it stopped; curious…..
We found the spring after walking through a thousand stinging nettles. The noise started again.
We all heard weird noises and whispering and rustling, at one point we scared ourselves and scrambled back up the wall to the church. When we had given ourselves a talking to we ventured round the church to the bottom (lots of nettles and stingy things!) Over the wall was a huge field so we went back to hold a séance in the ruins.
Usually, we don’t do these for long, however we dragged this one out, asking for more, putting torches in crevices pointing at us and just asking for something to happen, to make a noise etc. All the while the knocking continued.
We did hear things, saw a few glints of light, but nothing absolute. We then decided to go to back to the lorry and drive to where the noise was coming from, it was a dark country road and we could then head home.
We sat for a while in the back of the lorry, then stood up to go. There were footsteps (?) outside, and T & J thought it was someone (something) circling us).
J & T went to drivers side, and J felt very uneasy and scrambled in the front followed by T, before opening our passenger door.
We drive down past the church, the house that K and I thought was there, was not. Nothing but hedge and trees. We drove further down until we found a place to turn to go back.
We stopped opposite the church where we thought the noise was coming from. There was nothing on my left but a hedge and trees. We turned the engine off to listen.
We all heard a breathing from inside the cab, slow breathing, long exhale. The brakes then started to chug and grind like we were being pushed, although T had her foot jammed on the brakes. T then yelped, followed by J yelling. Both had seen, in her wing mirror, a head poking out behind the lorry!
Then, something was thrown to the ground from behind and T saw a blue light go past her window, very brief glimpse. Panic! She didn’t want to drive, climbed onto J, but we had to go so we were shouting at her, saying ‘drive, drive!’
Panic in her voice, T kept shouting ‘did you see that, did you?!’.
Maybe the kids in the back had lobbed something out the window? A phone call to them confirmed, no. They had felt the pushing and heard the noises.
We drove along the road (we were all a bit scared by now) We kept looking in the mirrors, we saw a shadow behind, so we pulled in by a street light and a house.
None of us wanted to get out to look, so we sat there, scared.
We felt like something was on top of the vehicle, and there was lots of knocking/tapping on the lorry; no! IN the lorry.
K saw blue lights flashing and thought it was a police car, I was about to get out and a car drove by, not anything else.
We were quite scared as the tapping and movements from the back of the lorry were horrid. T then drove at speed (as much as you can in a big lorry!) and zig-zagged to throw off whatever was there.
There was a thud.
By now, she was quite panicky and driving erratically, so we made her pull over. We stopped by a house and in the mirror we could see something in the hedge to the side.
It looked, dammit, like the masked person from Scream, a whitish face with a black robe and small in size. We were quite freaked out and drove again pulling into a bus stop, which was well lit.
We had to get out to check the lorry, on top of it, under it, inside it. T could not open her door, she pushed and shoved and put the catch up and down and tried to force it, in the end sitting with hands on her face in despair.
I said to K for us to get out and go round to open it, just as we did the door came open as smooth as a nut…..
The kids inside the back of the lorry had heard everything and were quite scared too, but were unable to step outside.
After checking the lorry, we then drove home, really wound up and upset, and trying to analyse everything that had happened, coming up with no logical answer. Mass hysteria maybe?
