So I feel I need to explain my latest images…. The black & whites with Ashleigh. 1 2 3 4 5 6

I was talking to a friend of mine a few weeks ago, who is also a photographer, and he had said that he liked my new images because they reminded him of his images. This freaked me out pretty good considering that my work is nothing like his and yet I could see the resemblance. So I started to search for an answer as to why they looked similar. The reason had to do with a combination of locations, models, and the quality of light in my images.

So I decided to start playing with different styles in an attempt to re-discover my own style. In the process I got the black & whites with Ashleigh.

These are not meant to be pretty, in fact far from it on purpose. All I wanted was to capture something real, something far removed from nature, removed from beauty and glamour. That was the genesis for these images. Ashleigh took it to places I could not have imagined and for that I am grateful to her. SHe understood what it was I wanted and was able to translate it into interesting poses which gave me interesting images.

There is a message in these images, but it’s up to you to discover what it is.
