As the sun hovered above the horizon in that deep chasm between the two right-most pillars, it was practically impossible to get a usable exposure, even with all my filters on, and even after trying HDR for some shadow and highlight recovery in post-processing.

Once the sun had disappeared below the horizon, however, the landscape was very photogenic, with this warm, glowing sky setting the scene for my favourite location in Victoria: The Pinnacles at Cape Woolamai!

  8. HDR generated from 5 exposures (0, +/-1ev, +/-2ev) using Photomatix Pro
  9. Corrections and enhancements applied using Photoshop CS4 with Topaz Adjust 4 and Imagenomic Noiseware Professional plug-ins
