Noticing the thick, soupy fog that engulfed the Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges around midnight last night, I set out to capture some moody scenes. I ended up at this jetty at Lilydale Lake around 3:30am.
I had to shoot each scene fairly quickly, as the near freezing temperature and heavy dew in the air was causing my lens and filters to fog up quite quickly. To be honest, the shoot was actually quite tiring, as I had to go back to the car to wipe down all my equipment and polish up my lens and filters after each shot (I did try doing it on the spot, but there was just too much moisture in the air). That said, I think it was worth the effort in the end, and I hope that you’ll agree ;-)
As an aside, this is one of the few photographs in my folio that is published almost ‘as-is’ with minimum post-production work!
