My first time at The Dell at Clifton Springs, I arrived quite early before sunset to check out the area… only to find that everything was exactly where I expected it to be, and that I didn’t need to wander around for hours to find what I was looking for!
So I proceeded to set up the camera at the western-most jetty (having decided that it had a more interesting foreground than the other) and started shooting ahead of schedule. It was lucky that I did, because the fast-moving wisps of late afternoon cloud gave way to a relatively boring cloudscape once the sun went down.
While the colour version of this image was certainly pleasing, I went for a high contrast black-and-white for publication as I felt the desaturation and increased contrast enhanced the ‘dreamy’ effect that I was looking for. For a change, I’m not going to publish both… this is the one!
